Ashtray was the final project completed during my Interactive Media studies at NYU Shanghai. The animation illustrates university students reflecting on advice from home as they embrace college experiences. I created the audio using voicemail messages from close relatives and people I look up to.
I won Best Picture in the 2016 NYUAD 24-Hour Film Festival for this stop motion animation, shot with an iPhone. The festival easter eggs involved adding budget cuts and a triangle into the film.
As a course exercise, I created this stop motion pixilation of my friend using a green screen and post edited in Adobe Animate and Premiere.
